In today’s world immigrants are viewed poorly. They have almost been villainized in America. The President of our country as well as many right wing politicians seem to view immigrants as fundamentally below them in class. In fact almost all of us have ancestors that are immigrants, the standards set for how to become a citizen were just different then.
Immigrants often get the short straw in today’s society as they are sometimes viewed as people that steal american jobs. This may be true sometimes as they are paid below minimum wage giving business owners incentive to hire them as it would be cheaper. But they aren’t coming here with the intent of stealing jobs.
A comparison could be made between immigrants and the Tutsi people in the movie Hotel Rwanda. This comparison could be drawn as some Americans in our country want the immigrants kicked out, just like the Tutsi people being kicked out of Rwanda. The main difference is that the Hutu people actually started a genocide to get ride of the Tutsis by killing them.
You could also compare immigrants in America to Lennie from of mice and men and the way he is looked down upon because of his disability. Being an immigrant isn’t a disability but it is similar in that you are born in a different country that may not have the same benefits of America, like how Lennie was born with a disability. Trying to immigrate, sometimes illegally is just their way of trying to make their life better, just like Lennie trying to find jobs and work them so he can support himself.
The last comparison I will show you is immigrants compared to the UN’s peacekeepers in Hotel Rwanda. The comparison I made between them is that they are both coming to a country to better a situation but are met with hate. In Hotel Rwanda the peacekeepers are hated by the Hutu army and in real life immigrants are hated by certain political groups. Immigrants are just coming to better their life and should not be looked down upon. They are people just like us, and I believe that a system should be set in place to make illegal immigrants citizens. Also the actions of a few illegal immigrants that have broken laws put a tarnish on them as whole which isn’t ok. So I challenge you to strive to be a better person and not judge groups by the actions of a few.

For my English class I was assigned to write a paper about a controversial topic, I chose to do divorce. I was told to take this from a christian perspective and say why it shows how the world’s sense of morality has degraded. Unfortunately the way I was assigned to write the paper made my paper biased but overall I think that it is still a good paper, I would enjoy if you read it.
I wrote this report on the book the devil in the white city, it was a good book and I hope you enjoy my report.
I am currently taking a class at Lincoln Lutheran where we learn to build a website using wordpress. The premise of my website is to deliver quick and easy to find origins of your favorite marvel heroes. I have them divided into 4 categories, whether they are a X-men, Avenger, SHIELD Agent, or an Antihero. You can locate each hero in a drop down menu titled on of these four things, for example, Iron Man would be Classified under Avengers:
Here you can see an example of one of my finished pages. This one is Iron Man’s, you see his real name, his alias, some of his notable relatives, his creators, and his debut comics, along with a short bio and an image or two.
In this post i will show you how to run the program with some screenshots and a video.
Video
This is the beginning of the program. The program print out the intro and then the part in the red box is telling you to type start.
In these ones it is printing out all of the teams and then you will type in the number of the team you are going to be.
this next one shows the next step. I put q and decided to be the cardinals. So it then printed out my roster. Then it started the first game and after it asked me if i would like to train.
I typed y for yes and it turns out my overall then increased and then from there you will continue the season.
Then after 16 games it will print out your final record and ask if you would like to play another game and based on what you say it will either starter or end.
This game is a football simulator. As you know it works with the NFL team to try and give you a great experience. In this post you will be able to see all of my source code and at the bottom there will be a zip to download the game and all the files. They are in a folder. Make sure to read the file called Read Me. This will give you everything you need.

So this game that I have written is a football simulation game. What it does is it allows you to simulate a season of footballs one of your favorite NFL teams. One of the new things i had to learn is how to trim a list. I had learned this in the past but needed to review it. You can learn it here: link. I needed to learn this so that i could print out list of the teams and then whichever number you picked to select your team it then uses that number and that number links up to which file in the list of roster files you would like to open. Everything you need to run the program and the program itself will be in the next post. Post 3. I am extremely proud of a spot in my program that shows injury chances. It is that after a random amount of games you will have an injury. You can see it here:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 |
injuryChances=randint(1,16) while counter<=amountOfGames: if counter>=injuryChances: print(injuryChances) injury(overall) injuryChances=100 print('Game', counter+1) game(overall) |
I am also proud of my training procedures. You can see those in post three with the source code as i do not want to cram it into here. Thank you and i will see ya next time. 🙂 Post 1 Post 3 Post 4
For my programming final I decided to create a program that simulates one season of football with the option to play more. It has all of the teams in the NFL. How I decided to make this was that I saw that Derek Gunther had suggested a simulation game, and that intrigued me. So I then went and decided to make a Football Simulator. I chose this because I love football video games, and this just seemed like it would be super fun and interesting to write. The Minimum Viable Product (Programmer Terms, it means the least complex version of your program that will still work) of my project would be a simple game. It would have 8 teams, and a very short season. Most of the number’s would just be randomly generated, and that makes it a lot less user friendly also there would be no injuries or training! Some features I would like to add consist of the game saving your overall at the end of a season so you can continue with that team, because if you have an amazing team, do you really want to start over? And the next thing I could add is trading and free agents, you could use this to make your team better or get your favorite player. And the last feature I would like to add is you actually facing the other teams, in my game as of right now you are just facing a team with a random overall. So having you face the other teams woud give a lot more authentic of a feel to the game. The main one I woud like to focus on is the trading and free agent players. I picked this because me and my buddy DC, could find some cool ways to get some players as free agents. This would then make the game more interesting and pay off in the long run. This program has really changed the way I think at programming, it has taught be many things. It has actually made me want to take my time a little more in everything and plan out the best way to do it instead of the quickest. This program has also help me learn that getting help from friends is very useful. My buddy DC has helped me fix a lot of errors and the program would be a lot more behind without his help And I have also gotten help from lots of the other people in this class. So thank you everyone. You can click one any of these hyperlinks to see my second, third and fourth posts on this.
